(Aero) Head-up Display
Mounted in the cockpit of many commercial airliners the HUD control box needed to take up minimum space, look neat and house appropriate laser technology. The cable assembly needed a filter connector and the associated wiring needs to negotiate a ‘hotspot’.
- A cable ‘trough’ gives a permanent position to the wires already formed into a flat section by the weave process. The trough is bolted into position within the unit by inserts sonically inserted into the mouldings.
- The multitudinous screens are earthed using a simple cost saving formed wire busbar.
- Mouldings and encapsulations secure the wires to the connectors and busbar and provide strain relief. See Environmental Sealing.
