Tekdata teams up with Newcastle-under-Lyme College

Fifteen Tekdata employees are improving their IT skills thanks to a link up with Newcastle-under-Lyme College. The 'Start IT' course includes business communication skills using Word and presentation skills aided by Powerpoint . The use of Excel in a business environment is also part of the curriculum.

The training is funded by the European Social Fund through the Skills for Life and Work project for small to medium-sized businesses. The project began in May 2006 and the group was such a success that the training is now delivered to two large groups of Tekdata employees, across a range of disciplines.
