First in, last in, as mom's mangle catches NASA's eye
Tekdata's first employee, Mike Knapper, has rejoined the company - 35 years since he became the company's very first acquisition.
Mike joined Tekdata in 1970 as a technician wireman, and subsequently brought a series of innovations to the company, one of which even involved his mother's mangle and has recently led to a subsequent product development achieving NASA approval!
This was a novel approach to high-speed density interconnect by replacing coaxial wiring with a woven ribbon cable generating similar properties by using the earth signal earth pattern within a weave to create a controlled impedance cable pathway - and he even used his mother's mangle to apply and secure the flame-proof jacket to the product! |
