UK-built cameras go onto the International Space Station

Two HD cameras built in the UK have been successfully installed on the International Space Station, enabling people to view live footage of Earth from space.

Tekdata’s Cryoconnect division, working with the Rutherford and Appleton Laboratory, supported the design phase and manufactured the cryogenic interconnection systems for both the MRC, the Medium Resolution Camera, and the HRC, the High Resolution Camera, which were successfully fitted on the International Space Station during the astronauts’ six hour ‘spacewalk’.

Cryoconnect’s team are proud to be a part of these programmes which are leading the way to future Earth Observation cameras on the ISS.
